Laymen’s summary:
Researchers studied a shorter version of a questionnaire called CAPE-9 to assess psychotic experiences (PEs) in a large sample of adult males. They found that CAPE-9 demonstrated good reliability and that scores were associated with various mental disorders. After accounting for current emotional symptoms, the associations remained significant for schizophrenia and trauma-related disorders. These results show that the short CAPE-9 is a cost-effective tool that can help inform public health initiatives and improve our understanding of the different aspects of psychosis.
